Moonstone Marketing is a mindful marketing agency supporting community-led brands and founders. Founded by career marketer Dana (Farber) Thompson in 2021, we cultivate sustainable growth through authentic storytelling, lifecycle nurturing, and strategic marketing that honors intention over interruption. We believe marketing should deepen connections, not just drive conversions.
We're seeking a Marketing Manager who will serve as the operational backbone of Moonstone Marketing. This is a client-facing role where you'll own the execution of marketing strategies across our client portfolio while also managing our internal marketing and operations. You'll work directly with our founder to bring client visions to life through thoughtful, data-informed marketing.
You'll start by managing 3-5 client accounts and scale up to 7+ as you grow into the role. This position is designed for someone ready to level up from junior to mid-level responsibility—you'll have the support and mentorship to develop while being trusted with meaningful ownership from day one.
As we expand, you'll have the opportunity to step into a leadership position managing a larger team and owning greater strategic responsibility.
Responsibilities
What You'll Own:
Client Work (60%)
- Execute marketing strategies across email, social media, content, and other channels for multiple client accounts (starting with 3-5, scaling up to 7+)
- Build and manage email campaigns, social media content calendars, and marketing automation workflows
- Write compelling copy across all formats: emails, blog posts, social captions, landing pages, and more
- Adapt your writing to match diverse brand voices and audience needs
- Manage creative briefs and coordinate with our design studio partner for all visual assets
- Conduct consumer research, competitive analysis, and market insights to inform strategy
- Track campaign performance and prepare analytics reports for clients
- Ensure all deliverables meet brand standards and are completed on time
- Support client communication and day-to-day project management
Internal Marketing (30%)
- Own Moonstone's monthly newsletter content, from strategy to execution
- Create and schedule 2-3 Instagram posts per week that showcase our work and philosophy
- Support business development through PR outreach, podcast submissions, and partnership opportunities
- Develop demand generation content for our marketing funnel
- Manage internal content calendar and ensure consistent brand presence
Marketing Operations (10%)
- Maintain project management systems in Asana to keep client work organized
- Streamline workflows and processes to improve team efficiency
- Co-manage 1-2 interns as needed, providing guidance and feedback
- Support agency operations and contribute to building scalable systems
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- 3-4 years of marketing experience, preferably with community-focused or lifestyle brands
- Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility in writing across channels and formats
- Proven experience with email marketing and content creation
- Deep understanding of marketing fundamentals: audience development, customer journey, engagement metrics
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Proficient in Google Workspace and quick to learn new tools
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, or similar email/CRM platforms
- Background in lifecycle marketing or retention strategies
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools
- Understanding of social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Canva proficiency for quick-turn graphic needs
